Big, small, I’ll walk them all. A dog-lover all my life, and past owner of two of the goodest dogs ever, I’m currently an apartment-dweller so am filling the dog-shaped hole in my universe with dog-sitting and dog-walking whenever the opportunity arises. 2025 4 weeks dog-sitting Fred, mature fox-terrier/mystery mix, in his own home (Hataitai, Welington). The gig was a job-share with husband Noel, and consisted of house-sitting and taking care of Fred; ie twice-daily walks plus pee-breaks, feeding, hanging out, and exploring the neighbourhood dog parks, cafes-with-treats, and pubs-with-treats.

Sarah and Noel looked after Fred for us for a few weeks when we were visiting the UK. Fred, who sadly is no longer with us, was not an easy dog but Sarah and Noel understood him beautifully and by the end, I’m sure Fred would have preferred them as owners instead of us. Sarah kept us updated with photographs and short messages while we were away, so we could see clearly that Fred was having the time of his life in their company. I cannot recommend their services as dog sitters highly enough and am forever grateful they showed so much love to my boy.
